Removery was formed in 2019 through a merge of the four leading tattoo removal brands in North America. Based in Austin, TX, Removery is the only scaled, pure play provider of laser tattoo removal services in the world. We use best in class technology utilising the innovative PicoWay® laser equipment to remove tattoos safely and effectively. The foundation is in place to build a network of 400+ locations across the US, Canada, and Australia over the next 5 years.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and people-focused Area Manager to support our Director of Operations – Australia and oversee day-to-day studio operations across New South Wales and Queensland. This role is the Director’s support partner, helping to execute operational strategies, lead studio performance, and ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience.

The Area Manager will have direct people leadership responsibilities for multiple studios and their teams, with a strong focus on operational consistency, studio performance, onboarding, training, and hiring. This role will also directly contribute to individual studio success – including providing sales consultations, treatments, and other operational needs within our studios. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging Operations leader looking to grow within a multi-unit environment.
 

Key Responsibilities

Studio & Operational Support:
  • Provides hands-on operational leadership to studios across NSW and QLD, ensuring alignment with company standards and processes
  • Supports the Director of Operations in executing regional initiatives and operational priorities for all locations in Australia
  • Monitors studio performance metrics and assist in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality, and client experience
  • Helps implement operational playbooks, SOPs, and best practices across assigned studios
  • Cross-trained to perform sales consultations and laser treatments, as needed, to support individual studio success
People Leadership & Development:
  • Directly manages studio teams, providing coaching, feedback, and ongoing support
  • Assists with onboarding and training new hires, ensuring a smooth ramp-up and consistent learning experience
  • Partners with the People Team and Director of Operations on recruiting, onboarding, ongoing enablement, performance management, team development, employee relations, and other initiatives
  • Fosters a positive, accountable, and high-engagement studio culture
Compliance & Quality:
  • Supports studios in maintaining compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Assists with internal audits, documentation, and follow-up actions as needed
  • Reinforces consistent service delivery and quality standards across all locations
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Acts as a liaison between studio teams and the Director of Operations, escalating risks, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Field Team Enablement, Marketing, and support teams to ensure smooth execution of initiatives.
  • Supports local marketing initiatives in partnership with the marketing team to drive studio awareness and client acquisition.
  • Provides feedback from the field on marketing effectiveness and local market opportunities.
  • Supports new studio openings and transitions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent professional experience)
  • At least four years of professional experience in multi-unit operations, retail, hospitality, healthcare, wellness, or a related field, including at least one year in direct people leadership experience
  • Based in Sydney or Brisbane metro areas with the ability to travel regularly to all market locations, including Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. Infrequent international travel may be required.
  • Right to work in Australia
