TotalBeauty.com completed a study that did just that and although it may come as no surprise to see places like Los Angeles, CA (#10), Portland, OR (#5), and Miami, FL (#1) on the list, it is a bit surprising to see Honolulu, HI (#8) and Kansas City, MO (#9) make the cut.

The list is based on how many tattoo shops per capita are located in the city. The number one city is Miami Beach, Florida, with 24 tattoo shops per 100,000 people. Richmond, Virginia, is the most surprising on the list, with 14 tattoo shops per capita in Richmond.
Honolulu, Hawaii, has 6.5 tattoo shops in total, the number 8 slot belongs to Honolulu. The average population of Las Vegas belongs to those between the ages of 25 and 44, the age most people getting tattooed.
Although Minneapolis, MN didn’t make the top 10 list, The Twin Cities has a strong tattoo community that seems to be growing year after year!
