When you arrive at our studio, you’ll start by meeting with one of our experts for a consultation. During this consultation we’ll discuss your tattoo removal goals, assess your tattoos, and pick a treatment package that works best for you. We’ll go over your expectations for fading and the number of treatments it might take. On average, it takes about 10 to 12 treatments, but this can vary depending on the size, color, age, and location of the tattoo. Once the plan is agreed upon, we’re ready to start the tattoo removal!
Next, you’ll be brought into the treatment room. Before starting the removal process, our laser specialist will clean the treatment area with alcohol. It’s normal to feel a bit nervous at this stage, but rest assured, we take all steps to maximize comfort during the treatment.
To help with any discomfort, we’ll then apply ice to the treatment area. This helps to reduce the feeling and make the treatment more comfortable. We’ll also perform a small test section to ensure we perform optimal results.
Now, the actual removal process begins. On average, the duration of the laser tattoo removal treatment takes around 30 seconds-2 minutes. You’ll notice the treated area turning slightly gray, commonly known as “frosting.” This is a temporary byproduct, most noticable on the first treatment, and fades within about 10-20 minutes. You might feel sensations similar to hot rubber bands snapping against your skin. Most clients find the pain to be less intense than they anticipated.
Once the session is complete, we’ll provide you with an aftercare kit to help your skin heal properly. It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions to ensure the best results and minimize any side effects. Typically, you’ll return for your next session in about eight weeks, allowing your tattoo ink to fade.
